BLUES/JAZZ FUNDAMENTALS

Justin in Action!

Explore the basic principles of blues and jazz combined with a brief synopsis of its history. Theory and history are key components to understanding the style which is the basis of contemporary rock and pop music. Much of the course will be focused on listening to various artists as well as analysis and comprehension of blues forms and scales.

Students are encouraged to bring their instruments as participation will be encouraged. A short take home handout for students will outline the course as well as having a list of suggested listening and reading. For the finale, Justin Vogel and special guest guitarist George Safire will perform a short concert highlighting the topics covered.

Fee for this workshop is $20.00 per person. Ages 5 and up. 5 and 6 year old children must be accompanied by an adult (fee for accompanying adult is $5.00 as seating is limited). Kindly register and pay at our front desk. We are booking fast!!
