WELCOME BACK TO S & K MUSIC STUDIO!
We sincerely thank all of our students, their families, our family members, friends, business associates, and our loyal employees for your patience, devotion, and the many forms of help you have provided during these past 8 months as we tried desperately to gain a foothold on our family business following what was an extremely difficult time for us all here at S & K Music.
We hope you will find the “new” S & K Music Studio to be just as warm and inviting as the first…with just a little more square footage! We are proud to continue to offer Las Vegas’ finest instructors, all of whom are FBI and Nevada State background checked, a diverse and well stocked retail section, expert repairs and custom guitars by Bernie Hamburger of Hamburguitar, and a wide variety of special events such as; Monthly Workshops, Student Concerts, Autograph Signings, Student of the Month Program, and our Birthday Club, to name a few.
Our recording studio is slated for re-opening in approximately 3 – 6 months and we look forward once again to serving all of your recording needs at that time. Please take note of the special wall plaque that is displayed in our waiting area thanking everyone not only for their help in rebuilding what is truly the community’s gathering place for music, but for helping to make a seemingly impossible dream happen all over again! We love you all!

WE NOW OFFER A STUDENT BIRTHDAY CLUB
When completing your student application (all prior students are asked to complete new paperwork for our filing system), just note your birth date in the appropriate section and you are automatically enrolled. You will receive a personal birthday greeting posted in our waiting area, a birthday card mailed to your home, your name mentioned in our monthly newsletter, “Noteworthy”, and a FREE gift! (this club is not available to Simple Single Sign-up students)
STUDENT DISCOUNT CARD PROGRAM
If you haven’t already done so, please pick up your student discount card at our front desk. This program is available to all students that are enrolled in our EZ Monthly Plan, 3 Month Plan, or 6 Month Plan (this program is not available to Simple Single Sign-up students). Here is how it works; Each time you spend $10.00 (not including tax) on any retail merchandise, your card will be punched. When your card is full, you will receive a $25.00 credit toward any retail merchandise purchase at S & K Music Studio! You can also use this card for a 10% discount on admission to workshops, autograph signings, S & K Music Studio concerts, Rock n’ Roll Summer Camp, etc. (Please Note: Your $25 credit CANNOT be used toward lessons, nor can lesson purchases be used toward card punches).

We are pleased to announce the first in our series of S & K Music Studio Workshops!
Please join PATRICK MARTENS, DRUMMER FOR “ASHBURY” and S & K Music’s premier drum instructor at his workshop entitled, “FORMING YOUR FOUNDATION – A JUMPSTART TO PLAYING DRUMS” held on Saturday, September 20th from 1:00 – 2:30pm.. In this workshop students will learn the following:
- Basic hand and foot technique
- How to get started on reading rhythms and drum music
- How to practice effectively
- Discover the importance of metronome use and how to apply it to all aspects of playing
- The workshop will conclude with the introduction to the “money beat” as well as hands on opportunities to apply it to the music of today
Fee for this workshop is $20.00 per person. Ages 5 and up. 5 and 6 year old children must be accompanied by an adult (fee for accompanying adult is $5.00 as seating is limited). Kindly register and pay at our front desk. We are booking fast!!

LESSON PAYMENT DUE DATE
Lesson payments are due NO LATER THAN the 20th of the month preceding your next month’s lessons. We no longer paper bill due to the cost. We DO send an email reminder out to you several days prior to your due date. We are presently working on establishing an on-line payment system for your convenience. You may wish to take advantage of our 3 and 6 Month Lesson Specials, wherein you pay up front for either 3 or 6 months worth of lessons in advance and receive either FREE lessons or FREE merchandise (the amount depends upon the lesson special chosen – please inquire at front desk) . These programs free you up from monthly payments AND provide either bonus lessons or merchandise!
*ALSO, PLEASE NOTE – In order for us to hold your reservation for your favorite instructor, day, and time, it is necessary for you to pay by the due date. Please understand that there are literally people on waiting lists eagerly waiting for those prime after school and Saturday spots, and when we do not have those spots officially held, we must give them up to those willing to commit. Our instructors depend on full monthly bookings as their regular income, just as S & K Music depends on the same. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Please bear with us as we presently have a NEW website under construction. We are working on securing our new domain name and will notify you as soon as we are ready to go. This leads me to announce our new web classified section which will be called, “BUY, SELL, BARTER, AND BUSINESS”. You can purchase a 30 word or less ad if you are looking to either buy something, sell something, barter (trade), or advertise your business. The many friends we acquired during our S & K build-out inspired us to create such a section, that brings the community and their needs together. If you are interested, here is the information you will need:
$7.50 buys you 30 words or less. (You can add your business logo to that, and we will do our best to “lift” and print it at an additional fee of $1.00 per logo.)
- Your ad will run for one month.
- It will appear in our monthly hardcopy newsletter, “Noteworthy,” available in-store.
- It will appear on our website.
- It will be sent to all email registered clients of S & K Music Studio when we email “Noteworthy” at the beginning of every month.
Please leave your printed 30 word ad and your $7.50 payment, and logo fee of $1.00, if applicable (CASH ONLY, PLEASE), at our front desk. We will confirm your wording and you will receive a receipt for your payment.
When the ad goes to print in our newsletter, three (3) copies of “Noteworthy” will be held aside for you at S & K Music for pick-up at your convenience.

OUR NEVADA SPCA ADOPTATHON WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!
During our LIVE TELEVISION BROADCAST on KVBC CH3’s Noon Show last Friday, the 29th, filmed while the adoptathon was in progress, we had MANY phone calls and visitors interested in adopting the six wonderful NSPCA dogs that spent the day with us! We enjoyed the canine company of “Toby”, “Tigger”, “Tippy”, “Jr”, “Lexy”, and “Midnight Louie”! Toby and Lexy were adopted and went happily off to their new homes, and a couple that visited our adoptathon ended up going to the NSPCA shelter afterward and adopted “Lady Belle”! Nathan’s Detroit Pizza donated their delicious pizza to the affair, and JOHN FREDERICKS of KVBC CH3 interviewed us and took the television viewers on a “tour” of our facility….they even got to watch Justin Vogel, our guitar/piano instructor perform!
All in all it was a wonderfully successful afternoon. We hope to have many more adoptathons to aid in matching the perfect family with the perfect pet!
